Influence of fineness, length and hollow section of fibers on acoustic absorption

A fibrous material is characterized by its fineness, flexibility and high length/fineness ratio it used to reduce noise in indoor rooms due their porous structure. The aim of this work focused on investigating the structure two different fibers (acrylic polyester) from analysis macrostructural parameters, such as length cross-section (solid or hollow). Furthermore, degree influence these parameters average sound absorption has been investigated. coefficient measured at normal incidence impedance tube. In acrylic fibers, results showed that fineness fiber a significant compared fiber. polyester hollow have better acoustic behavior solid fibers.
